Own the electrical scope across SQRD's projects — design review, shop drawings, procurement support, execution supervision and commissioning — so that electrical works are delivered in-house to the same standard as SQRD's architectural finishing.
Key responsibilities
Design and technical
- Review consultant electrical designs, identify conflicts and omissions, and propose value engineering where it does not compromise performance.
- Produce and review electrical shop drawings: lighting layouts, small power, containment routing, LV distribution and earthing.
- Prepare load schedules, cable sizing calculations, voltage drop calculations and panel schedules.
- Coordinate electrical routing with mechanical services, ceiling layouts and architectural finishes before installation.
- Review and coordinate ELV and low current scope — structured cabling, fire alarm, access control, CCTV — with specialist subcontractors.
Procurement support
- Prepare technical specifications and material submittals for electrical packages.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor technical offers and produce technical comparison sheets.
- Verify delivered material against approved submittals and reject non-compliant supply.
- Advise procurement on lead times for switchgear, distribution boards and specialist lighting.
Execution
- Supervise electrical installation across assigned sites for compliance with drawings, specification and the Egyptian Electricity Code.
- Inspect containment, cable installation, terminations, panel assembly and earthing at each stage.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning, including insulation resistance, earth continuity and functional testing.
- Liaise with utility authorities and consultants for inspections and approvals.
- Prepare and verify as-built electrical drawings and O&M documentation for handover.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Egyptian Engineering Syndicate membership.
- Minimum 5 years in electrical installation for fit-out, commercial, hospitality or similar projects.
- Experience of LV distribution, lighting control systems and ELV coordination.
- Working knowledge of the Egyptian Electricity Code and relevant IEC or NFPA standards.
- Experience supervising electrical subcontractors on active sites.
Technical skills
- AutoCAD; Revit MEP an advantage.
- DIALux or equivalent lighting calculation software.
- Load, cable sizing and voltage drop calculations.
- Testing and commissioning procedures.
